How to Create MPOS (Master Planning Object Structure) in SAP SCM.
The first configuration in SCM is the activation of MPOS in SAP and it creates basic foundation for planning objects.
In SAP Supply Chain Management, demand planning characteristics determine the level at which demand plans are created, modified or viewed. Master planning object structure (MPOS) consists this characteristics.
- Menu Path: Advanced Planning and Optimization >> Demand Planning > Environment >> Administration of Demand Planning > Administration of demand planning and Supply Network Planning.
Step 1: From SAP Easy Access Screen, follow the navigation menu path Advanced Planning and Optimization – Demand Planning – Environment and click on activity “Administration of Demand Planning and Supply network planning.
Step 2: In the next S & DP administration screen, click on planning area and choose the option “Plng Object Structure”.
Step 3: Right click on Plng Object Structure and choose the option “Create Planning Object Structure”
Step 4: A pop up window “create planning object structure” displays on the screen, enter the name of master planning object structure (MPOS) in the given field and press enter to continue.
Step 5: In the next screen “S&DP Administration – Configure Planning Object Structure” enter the following details.
- Text: Enter the description of master planning object structure.
- Choose the required characteristics from the left pane and click on right arrow to move to the right pane as shown below.
After maintaining all the required details, click on activate icon to activate the configured MPOS in SAP SCM. After clicking on activation icon, it displays list of logs, press enter to continue.
Now the status turns into green as shown below image.
Successfully Master planning object structure (MPOS) has been created in SAP SCM.
